HEDECS CAMEROON recently completed our quarterly central supervision across six towns in Zone 1, which covers the West, Northwest, and Southwest regions of Cameroon. This essential activity is part of the Community-Led Monitoring (CLM) for Most At-Risk Populations (MARP) project, which is funded by
PEPFAR. The project’s goal is to empower MARP communities and patients by having them monitor the services they receive, a process that’s as critical as controlling the HIV epidemic itself.
Our Supervision Visits
Our team conducted a series of visits with the active participation of HIV focal points from the Regional Delegations of Public Health (RDPH) and Regional Technical Groups (RTG). Our visits was as follows:
- West Region: We began our supervision in Bafoussam, visiting Bafoussam Regional Hospital, CMA Tyo, Horizon Femmes, and COLIBRI Bafoussam. We visited the Foumban Regional Hospital Annex in Foumban and the Foumbot District Hospital in Foumbot.

The goal of this project is to listen to the communities, identify and overcome barriers to accessing HIV care, and advocate for lasting, positive changes.
By working directly with those who are most affected, we’re helping to strengthen leadership within MARP communities and ensuring their voices are heard in their own healthcare journey. Together, we’re creating a more productive, collaborative, and respectful environment in the fight against HIV.
