The day of the African Child was celebrated under the theme “Conflicts and crisis in Africa: Let’s protect the Rights of Every Child” Children who are vulnerable are seriously devastated by conflicts.
HEDECS has been working with children (juveniles) in conflict with the law. These children who because of conflicts and crises starting from the home become victims, are pushed out of the homes maybe for minor conflicts to the streets and neighborhood which further compounds the conflict taking them to detention centers and prisons.
HEDECS through its diversion program works with the juveniles, the family members, the victims in a holistic manner to rehabilitate and reinsert the children into their families and communities. The children are given back their dignity and become productive citizens rather than citizens who drain the tax payers money
